Changing the Battery in Your Mazda 3 Key Fob
It's a pain to drive off at the end of a long workday and discover that your key fob is dead. Fortunately, this is an easy fix using the simple replacement of a battery at an electronics store or big box retailer.
Incorporating a spare key fob to your Mazda 3 can be an affordable way to keep yourself from having to be transported to a dealership and having them re-program your keys.
Battery Replacement
Changing the battery in the Mazda 3 key fob is an easy task that you can perform at home. However, mazda 2 spare key should only replace the battery if it dies, or if the key fob shows a message on the multi-information display that reads, "Low key fob battery. Replace battery."
You'll need a flathead screwdriver, tape and patience to open the case. Place the flathead screwdriver's head in a notch or gap on the bottom metal of the Mazda 3 key fob to cut off the lower half. Repeat the process for the top metal part but be careful not to damage the rubber ring that is at the bottom of the key fob's case.

Take out the old CR2025 and replace it with a brand new one, making sure to put it on its face to ensure the correct orientation. Install the cap on the battery again and attach both sides of your key fob case by pressing until they click.
After replacing the battery after replacing the battery, lock and unlock your doors to verify that the fob works. If everything looks good then your Mazda 3 remote features can be used again.
Pairing Issues

This could cause the chip to stop functioning and may require replacement of the key fob. If you own a programmable key you can clean the chip using isopropyl alcohol or an electronic cleaner to help it return to working. If this doesn't work the chip, it's likely to be damaged and needs to be replaced.
Locking/Unlocking of the Doors
The key fob's buttons send electronic signals to a solenoid in the car. It then converts that signal into a mechanical action that locks and unlocks doors. If the door lock does not work, it could be an issue with the solenoid. This will require expert repair shops to look into.
